Description
A wine regions jigsaw puzzle makes the perfect gift for anyone with an interest in wine.
Yamit is a sommelier based in Stockholm. She founded Water & Wines in 2020 having graduated from Swedish sommelier school Vinkällan earlier that year. However, within just a couple of months the pandemic hit. While isolating at home Yamit started making puzzles as a meditative activity. Then, she came up with the brilliant idea of making a puzzle about wine! The designs are gorgeous and it’s the perfect fun way to learn about wine regions, appellations and grape varieties.
Wines of France
This stunning jigsaw is the first design in the range. It features all the major French wine regions and grape varieties. There are grape profiles describing aromas, key characteristics, and food pairing tips! Not only will you learn about wine but you will also learn about French geography. The puzzle is illustrated by hand and the details were reviewed with help of some of the top sommeliers in the world.
Wines of Italy
Italy is such a varied country geographically that it is no surprise that it is home to so many grape varieties. I love Italy and Italian wine but it can be hard to learn about it. This stunning, witty map gives a brilliant insight to Italy and its many wines. From Barolo made in Northern Italy from Nebbiolo to wines created in Sicily from Nero d’Avola. I’m definitely going to be doing this puzzle this Christmas and brushing up on my knowledge.
Wines of California
I’ve always wanted to visit California, however as I don’t think I’m going to make it this year I will be doing this jigsaw instead. Did you know that 81% of all the wine made in the USA is produced there. California is one of the largest wine producing regions in the world. A combination of warmth, bright sun and the cooling effect of the ocean and the mountains means that some of the most prestigious wines produced in the USA come from here. Why not explore the grape varieties that thrive here and discover the six different wine regions of the Sunshine State.
Wines of Spain
I’m really looking forward to tackling this puzzle featuring a fabulous hand-drawn map of Spain. Spain has a long history of wine production. Most of us know Tempranillo, the principle grape variety used to make Rioja but that is a lot more to Spanish wine than that. This puzzle wonderful will help you to discover more wines that you will grow to love.
Wine of South Africa
I love every moment of my journey of wine discovery and learning about the wines of South Africa is a real treat. This colourful jigsaw is a brilliant guide to the wine regions of the Western Cape and wonderful variety of grapes that grow there.
Champagne
New to the range of Water and Wines Jigsaw Puzzles for 2022. Curated in collaboration with Master of Wine and champagne specialist Essi Avellan, this puzzle highlights the main regions of Champagne, the Grand Cru villages, and the region’s rich history. The puzzle box also features lots of information about champagne-making and food-pairing tips! Illustrated by hand, the design was first hand-drawn and then attentively reviewed piece by piece.
Every puzzle comes with a full-sized poster of the design that you can frame. Then after you have done your jigsaw why not test what you have learnt with our Wine Quiz
