Description
We asked our friend, Karen, at South London Letterpress to create some letterpress cards for wine lovers. She designed these stylish postcards featuring four different shaped glasses. We chose duck egg blue ink so that the cards would match our Wine Cellar Record Books. We love the result. Karen uses a vintage Adana 8×5 letterpress to handprint each card. Therefore, each card is individual and unique and slight differences can appear in the colour and print of the ink. You can use these versatile postcards to send a quick note, a thank you or an invitation.
We will be selling our letterpress cards for wine lovers in packs of eight along with eight pale grey envelopes. Each pack is tied with a grosgrain ribbon in either red or blue. Choose which would prefer at checkout.
About Letterpress Printing
Letterpress printing is a form of relief printing. Firstly, the printer inks a raised surface on the mechanical press. Then this ink is pressed with force onto high-quality paper. This impression is what gives letterpress it’s unique three-dimensional feel and separates it from other forms of printing. Letterpress printers print by hand using skill to create a distintive effect.
About South London Letterpress
South London Letterpress was founded in 2015 by South London residents, and good friends, Scott Hickson and Karen Silcock.
Karen and Scott met when their children were first at school together and they discovered a mutual appreciation for the whimsical beauty of letterpress stationery, seen on trips to the US and from small, independent printers in the UK.
In 2017, Karen adopted the Adana Letterpress and now runs the company single-handedly from her home in Balham. As well as taking on bespoke orders, she is on a mission to seek out the originality and playfulness of letterpress stationery from around the world and bring it to a wider audience
As well as a stock range, Karen also produces bespoke stationery. Do get in touch with her if you would like her to create some for you.
