If you are throwing a party you need a great champagne cocktail recipe.  We love champagne and our handprinted linen union glass cloth features one of our favourites.  Instead of champagne we use English sparkling wine and strawberries to make a delicious summer cocktail.

Our Glass Cloths and Tea Towels

We print our glass cloths on linen union fabric.  This linen-cotton mix is ideal for polishing glasses and china because it is soft and lint-free.  We screen print by hand here in the UK.  Our original designs make wonderful gifts for anyone with an interest in wine.

English Sparkling Wine and Champagne

The rules around the making and labeling of champagne are strict.  Sparkling wine can only be called Champagne if it is made in the Champagne appellation of Northern France.  You make champagne using the traditional method and it is typically a blend of three grape varieties, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier.

Although we are not able to call sparkling wine made in England ‘champagne’ because it is not from that region there are lots of similarities.  Climate change means that the climate in Southern England is similar to that in Champagne.  English vineyards plant the traditional ‘champagne’ grapes and use these in the best English Sparkling Wines.  The best English sparkling wines also use the traditional method.

Try a bottle and then see what you think and make our champagne cocktail recipe too.
