Tips for Pouring Wine
- Sommeliers like to hold the bottle with the label facing outwards so that it can be seen easily.
- A medium glass of wine contains about 175ml. Quantities can be difficult to judge in different glasses. A handy tip if measure 175ml of water into the glasses to see where it sits. This just makes it a bit easier to judge how much you are pouring.
- Obviously with your DropStop wine pouring discs inserted there will be no problem with drips. If you don’t have a DropStop then you may need to practise and perfect the wine waiter’s twist. It is quite a skill so if you don’t have a DropStop you might need to use a napkin around the bottle just to be on the safe side.
